Weekend at the Beach

Last weekend, our friends Bill and Raye invited us to their friend's beach house. We have been a couple times now and Mariella loves it there! She couldn't wait to get on the beach and play in the sand. Daddy and Mariella spent a lot of time digging holes, looking for shells, and playing in the waves. Landry wasn't as thrilled about the beach :( He wasn't fond of the sand on his feet but he liked eating snacks, taking naps and being carried around!

August was a busy month...

Mariella, Landry and I visited Kansas City to see Aunt Wendy, Uncle Brian, and Cousins Quin & Leah. Grammy was also in KC so we enjoyed seeing her too. After a little getting used to each other, Mariella and Leah became great playmates. We had fun at the pool, eating at the T-Rex restaurant, getting pictures taken, and Mariella's favorite: Worlds of Fun Amusement Park. Then, we drove to Peoria to spend some time with Papa. We went to a Chiefs baseball game and the zoo. Mariella and Landry got to spend some quality time with their great-grandparents too! We had a good trip but it was nice to come home to our own beds :)

Mariella started her new preschool on August 30th. It is run through our local Methodist church and she loves it! She goes Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-1. She has already met some new friends and loves bringing her show and tell every Tuesday. This is also a nice time for Landry and I; although I think he misses having his big sister around!

Jared celebrated his birthday on the 29th with a new Caterpillar hat, shirt, and a Nook Color. He really wants an Ipad but we thought we try this first and work our way up to that!
